The concert is played by Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, the leading ensemble in Denmark within new compositional music.
They say:
"We create a concert based on Dodekalitten's natural calling for immersion, and we respond with beautiful, calm music that will enable an hour of "fallen into itself" for the audience present, who will go home enriched and uplifted through the midsummer night.
The concert will feature works by Wayne Siegel, Ole Buck and Regin Petersen. All three composers write new works, commissioned for the occasion and with more or less the involvement of electronics.
The works are commissioned by the composers with a desire that the music is initially meditative and perhaps even beauty-seeking - at least it should create a calm atmosphere in the audience.
Wayne's work will include himself and his "motion-tracking" system, where through his movements he controls a computer's sounds."
The 6th sculpture L'dis was inaugurated by Culture Minister Joy Mogensen in pouring rain in front of a small closed circle. Because of Covid19, the slightly larger inauguration took place digitally on facebook and Instagram with many wonderful greetings and congratulations from near and far.
In collaboration with Royal Unibrew, a concert was held with the Danish band The Minds of 99. The concert was part of "TAK ROCK 2019".
The band had itself expressed a desire to play by Dodekalitten.
The concert was free. There were 6000 guests who had a tremendous experience as the sun set and darkness fell. A documentary was recorded from the concert.
4th and 5th Stenfigur was unveiled by Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen and Regional Chairman Heino Knudsen. Inauguration speech by art critic Trine Ross, who said, among other things:
"Here I think you can feel your own body, because you constantly relate to these very large sculptures and to the magic of the circle. – Dodekalitten is what is called Work in Progress with an art history term – that is, a work that is being carried out – it provides a unique situation and the opportunity for people here to follow how the work really comes about . Here is part of the work itself and in this way you can say that it is very similar to life, where it is not the end, the conclusion that is the important – it is the work towards it. The music belongs to the present moment, where the sculptures, on the contrary, belong to eternity. Time passes quietly while the sculptures by no means perish. And this is just the thing about creating a center and a magic – it can't do anything but make the world a better place – and it's actually not too bad!"
After the unveiling, there was a concert by Wayne Siegel, Jakob Kullberg, cello, Jacob Bro, guitar and Jakob Buchanan, trumpet.
The forest nursery in Søholtskoven had lent their wood dodekalit - made from inspiration from the artwork. It was erected between the great stone giants.
100 children from "The Blue Annemone", "Eventyrskoven Frederiksdal" and "Skovbørnehaven in Søholtskoven met with Thomas Kadziola, Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen and members of the board of the Friends Association. The children got Thomas's tools in their hands and heard stories at Glentehøjen by a witch.
On 3 December 1990, the Commission Stone sculpture was unveiled by H.M Queen Margrethe. The figure - the first woman in the circle - was named YDIS (also known as Idun. The female creative life-giving force.) Nap blowers from Frederikssund, choir and Livgardens Musikkorps in red gala participated.
Culture Minister Marianne Jelved visited Dodekalitten together with Mayor Holger Schou Rasmussen to reveal the first two stone figures – Baldur and Lodir. Huge influx for the first time along Glentehøjstien - Dodekalitten was now a reality. - The inauguration was accompanied by singing and music by Gunner Møller Pedersen. Mette Franck, harp - Svend Melbye, flute - Tubas Løkkegaard, drums - Gunhirdur the Younger, lolerlur - LOLERKORET under the direction of conductor Erik Lauge Mikkelsen.
Baldur – the first stone figure was on loan to Copenhagen and erected at søpavillonen until June 2014.
At the time of the nomination, 2nd Wise Mayor Hanne Møller said, the Municipality of Lolland:
"I see how the music, stone figures and landscape merge into a sensory experience without equal – it becomes huge to stand or sit between the stones, look out over the Smålandshavet and just enjoy it – because culture is the kit that binds us together! "Thank you for daring to think so big!"
